Sketchbook 2014

January 21, 2014

The 2014 Sketchbook contains selected sketches from the model sessions I am attending as often as I can. These sessions permit me to practice realistic drawing in a relatively systematic way.

The practice of drawing is for me a kind of mental relaxation and a form of intellectual meditation. It is important to mention here that in order to draw what one see, one needs to look and coordinate many elements at the same time. The action of drawing is a very complex process, where many senses cooperate together in order to compose a reflection of an object or a form in question.

To draw means to be in total control of self. It is why the skills of realistic drawing should be practice not only by the artist, but also by anyone willing to work on his/her visual and perceptive abilities.
